BEGIN VIDEO:  Original English version:

CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER

SCRIPTURE READING:  John 6: 60-69   NKJV
60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”
66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the                 words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the             Christ, the Son of the living God.”

SERMON:
THE RED LETTER WORDS OF JESUS
THAT CHANGED MY LIFE!  part 1
1 Corinthians 3:1   could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes
We know the truth of the matter. We know what we should do, we just don't want to do it.
Matthew 6: 22-24   “The lamp of the body is the eye." “No one can serve two masters;"
Red letter words of Jesus changed my life, and they will change yours
John 6: 68-69  Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
Purchase a Bible where the actual words of Jesus are highlighted in red ink in the Gospels.
John 6: 47-56  Jesus is the bread of Life...
God provided manna daily to the people of Israel when they were in the wilderness those 40 years.  But they died.
Jesus is the bread of life, and by our being filled by Him, we have everlasting life.
Matthew 4: 3, 4  Jesus told the tempter: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’
John 17: 14-19  Jesus prays to His Father to sanctify His disciples.
Matthew 6: 22-24  The world hates the truth!  “No one can serve two masters;"
The truth of God and the world’s ways and desires are totally at odds with one another.  We all stand 'shame-faced' before God because of sin in our lives.
Justification is a free gift of God in Christ Jesus!
Justice is getting what you deserve!
Mercy is not getting quite what you deserve!
Grace is getting what you don’t deserve at all!  Grace is the full, unmerited and undeserved favor and forgiveness of all sins by God!
Jesus prays for His followers in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Sanctify them by your truth…”
Sanctification requires we live our lives in obedient faith by allowing God to move and work in us through the power of His Holy Spirit!
John 6: 68-69  Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
The red letter words of Jesus, compel us to obey as He leads and directs us.
Matthew 25:40  "...inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."
Matthew 24: 12-14  "lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold."  "and then the end will come."
Matthew 20: 25-28  "...but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant."
I love to live by the red letter words of Jesus!
My hope for you is that this message is the beginning of a new found love and amazement to your life and spirit as YOU read the red letter words of Jesus.  That in the same way these words of Jesus so impacted and transformed the lives of the Gospel writers and the Apostles 2,000 years ago, they will impact and transform your life just as powerfully!
John 14: 1-6   “I am the way, the truth, and the life."

‘It is not great talents God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy Christian is a powerful vessel in the hand of God.’

BENEDICTION:
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
1st Thessalonians 5: 16-28   NKJV
Lord, make us more like you, to be people who seek to hear from you and to be obedient to your will in our lives.  In Jesus name, Amen!

SERMON:
More Than Your Next Breath!
George Mueller, a Christian Evangelist who established and directed orphans and cared for 10,024 orphans.  His biggest reason for building the orphan homes was to be a witness, a visible demonstration of the faithfulness of God for providing for all His children.
George Mueller quote:
"Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man's power ends.”
‘Rejoice always.' people who are always content no matter what is happening around them.  They know that God is in control.
'Pray without ceasing.'  some prayers are answered immediately, and others require a prolonged season of prayer.  Jesus prayed more earnestly in the Garden of Gethsemane; the early church prayed for greater boldness.
When you pray, do you pray for the Lord’s will to be done in your own life?  Do you ask Him to change you to be more like Jesus or do you simply go to Him with your shopping list?
'In everything give thanks...'   Watch and see the goodness of the Lord and be thankful to Him!
'Do not quench the Spirit.'  When we have doubt; When we resist the Holy Spirit’s conviction of sin; When we fail to love others as Christ loves, we quench the Spirit.
'Do not despise prophecies.'  If we fail to give heed to prophecy, we invite our own peril.
Matthew 16: 1-3  Jesus rebukes the Pharisees
Matthew 24  Read the entire chapter about end times prophesies
Luke 21: 25-28
'Test all things; hold fast what is good.'  Where is the truth?  Test all things through the power of God’s Word and the leading of His Holy Spirit.
'Abstain from every form of evil.'  Anything that is not of Christ is evil because it takes our attentions away from Him who gives us life.
'May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely.'  God wants to sanctify, to set you apart to a sacred and holy purpose!
Habakkuk 1: 5
'He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.'  God does what He promises He will do!!  Always!!  In every situation!!  He will do it!!
Are the cares of this world choking out the things of God in your life?
What takes YOUR breath away?  Is your own desire for Jesus greater than your own desire for your next breath?  God alone is awesome and is doing an astounding work today!
In Jesus that we find our joy, our contentment and our peace!

‘It is not great talents God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy Christian is a powerful vessel in the hand of God.’
